Crowd-favourite Game of Thrones once again took home the award for the best drama series at the 70th annual primetime Emmy awards, however, it was Amazon’s Marvelous Mrs. Maisel that led by winning the five awards, including for comedy series, two in the writing and directing categories, and Rachel Brosnahan won in the lead actor category and Alex Borstein got the Emmy in the supporting actor category. After repeatedly getting snubbed at the previous Emmys, the recently concluded television series The Americans claimed two honours – the much deserving Mathew Rhys for the best actor in a drama series and series co-creators Joel Fields and Joe Weisberg got an award for outstanding writing in a drama series.
