Parvathy To Play An Acid Attack Survivor In New Film

Parvathy Thiruvoth will play an acid-attack survivor in her next movie that has Tovino Thomas and Asif Ali alongside her. The movie will see her joining hands with scriptwriters Bobby and Sanjay after their 2017 movie Take Off.

Directed by debutant Manu Ashokan, who served as the chief associate to the late director Rajesh Pillai, the movie retains most of the crew members from Take Off. Mahesh Narayanan, who directed the original movie will serve as the editor while Gopi Sundar will score music. But Mukesh Muraleedharan, who handled the camera for Njandukalude Naattil Oru Idavela will serve as the cinematographer for the project.

Talking to ToI about the movie, Sanjay says “It’s not based on true life incidents but it’s our depiction of an acid attack survivor. We met a lot of acid attack survivors before starting work on the script.” The team has also found a Bangalore based make-up team that will be working on the actress’s look for the movie.

The movie which is scheduled to begin shooting on the November 10 will have Cochin, Mumbai and Agra for locations. Sheroes’ Hangout, a community hub run by acid attack survivors is another spot that will be made use of by the makers while shooting the film.

Apart from the leads, the movie will feature Anarkali Marikar, Renji Panicker, Pratap Pothen and Prem Prakash. The movie will be produced by the daughters of the veteran producer P.V. Gangadharan.

Parvathy has already had two releases this year with Koode and My Story. Meanwhile, Kayamkulam Kochunni starring Nivin Pauly and penned by the Bobby-Sanjay will release on October 11.

Interestingly, another actress who will be portraying the role of an acid attack survivor will be Deepika Padukone.The film will be directed by Meghna Gulzar. It is said that Padukone’s character from the movie is based on the real-life survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
