Comprising 13 episodes with each featuring a pair of guests, Hello Sago is based on the theme of friendship. The show debuted with Yuvan Shankar Raja and Mirchi Shiva as guests, the second episode had Devayani and her actor-brother Nakul as guests. The third episode with Aishwarya Rajesh and director Arunraja Kamaraj is currently awaited.

Talking about the show, Haasan was quoted in a FirstPost report as saying, “I don’t think any of us can say that we know someone completely. There are layers to your personality. The show gave me a better understanding about their psychology, their likes and dislikes, their crazy and fun side.”

Haasan, who was initially reluctant to take up the offer said that she accepted it only after she was convinced that she was the person for the job. “I have never been part of such a set-up and I had to be sure that I can do a good job. Besides, I’m not someone who’ll be easily charmed by the first layer of the people I talk [sic]. I have to dig deeper and know more about them. That’s when things get interesting. There is always an interesting story behind people’s lives. Hello Sago gave me the chance to explore that fun side of every person I meet,” she said.

Haasan, whose last release Behen Hogi Teri released a year ago, has been concentrating on her music career and has been doing live gigs internationally.

She also reveals that her father Kamal Haasan’s stint at hosting Bigg Boss played a huge role in her signing up for the show. “My father had a lot of fun hosting Bigg Boss Tamil and people saw a different side of his personality. I’ve always seen him be quite communicative, funny, and easy going in real life, but it was only through this show that people at large became well-versed with this side of his persona.”

“I’m hoping that the audience too see a very different side of my persona,” she added.

Hello Sago airs on Sun TV and Viu at 8.30 p.m on Sundays.
