Samantha Ruth Prabhu will star in a remake of Korean language film, Miss Granny. The untitled film will see Samantha in the lead role with a senior actor playing a pivotal role. Suresh Babu will finance the movie through his Suresh Pictures. A spokesperson for the production house confirmed the film and said that the project will be kick-started in December this year.
“Samantha will play the lead role in the film. We have planned to start shoot by December. We are looking at senior artistes to play an important role in the film. All cast related announcements will be made once the movie pooja is done. The project is a big one and we are very thrilled to have Samantha on-board,” the spokesperson said.
The remake rights of the film have been secured by Suresh Babu, reports say.
Nandini Reddy is attached to direct the movie. Reports indicate that Naga Shaurya has an important role in the film. The film will be made in Telugu. It will likely secure a release in a Tamil version as well.

Miss Granny follows a 70-year-old woman who transforms into her 20-year-old self after an incident. Initially, it was said that Samantha would use special makeup techniques to essay both roles. Now, reports indicate that a senior actor will be cast in the role of the 70 year old woman. The spokesperson for Samantha would not comment on the details.
At present, Samantha is hard at work on Majili, her film with actor-husband Naga Chaitanya. A schedule of the film was wrapped up recently in Visakhapatnam. One more schedule is planned for December this year in Hyderabad. This is Samantha’s fourth film with Naga Chaithanya. Shiva Nirvana directs the movie that has music by Gopi Sunder.
