The first look poster of the Nandamuri Kalyan-starrer 118, was released by the actor on Twitter today. Helmed by cinematographer turned director K.V. Guhan, the movie went on floors this May.

This year Nandamuri Kalyan has had the two releases – MLA and Na… Nuvve, both of which didn’t fare well at the box office. 118, produced by East Coast Productions, is expected to release in January 2019. As 118 happens to be the total number of elements in the periodic table, the film’s story could have a science backdrop to it. A ToI report also mentions that 118 is an action thriller, and the actor has performed some underwater stunts for the film.
118 stars Nivetha Thomas and Arjun Reddy fame Shalini Pandey.
Nivetha Thomas started as a child artist in Malayalam, and made her debut in Telugu with the 2016 Nani-starrer Gentleman. She then acted in other Telugu movies like Jai Lava Kusa and Ninnu Kori. Her only release this year is 118, and her two movies, Swaasa and Brochevarevarura will come out in 2019 .

118 is Shalini Pandey’s Telugu release after her debut film Arjun Reddy, and her subsequent appearance in the Keerthy Suresh-starrer Mahanati, a biopic on Savithri. She has also acted in the Tamil films 100% Kadhal and Gorilla. Both movies are awaiting release.
K.V. Guhan, brother of director Saran and an assistant to ace cinematographer P.C. Sreeram made his directorial debut with the 2010 Tamil movie Inidhu Inidhu. A remake of the 2007 Telugu hit film Happy Days, Inidhu Inidhu featured eight newcomers and was produced by actor Prakash Raj under his banner Duet Movies.
As a cinematographer, his notable works include Mozhi, Dookudu and Bangalore Naatkal.
