According to an India Today report, Sethupathi, who is currently shooting for director Seenu Ramasamy’s Maamanithan in Alappuzha, Kerala, was approached by Kavalam on the sets of the film, asking for help to buy medicines. He readily gave her some money.

The Seethakaathi star’s help has won over his fans. A video of him giving away money has been doing the rounds on social media.

Recently, Sethulakshmi, another Malayalam actress known for her supporting roles in movies like Left Right Left and How Old Are You, came out with a plea asking for help for her son suffering from a kidney ailment.

Actress Ponamma Babum was one of the people who came to her aid. After Sethulakshmi’s plea went viral on social media, Ponnamma volunteered to donate a kidney for her son.

Even if we get a donor, the transplantation surgery cost will come to around Rs 25 lakh,” the actress said in an IE report. Other actors, including Indrajith, who played the role of her son in Left Right Left, helped her financially, she said.

Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi is currently hosting a television show which honours real-life heroes. Titled Namma Ooru Hero, the concept of the show has been designed by him.
