Samantha Akkineni, last seen in the bilingual horror-thriller U-Turn, is said to play dual roles in her upcoming films. According to a report in a Tamil daily, she plays the wife of Chaitanya and a school girl (in the flashback) in Majili while in O Baby! Yentha Sakkagunnave, she essays both the younger and older characters. There was speculation that another actor would be roped in to play the older role, but now it is confirmed that Samantha would use special makeup to essay both roles.
Majili has been directed by Shiva Nirvana, who made his directorial debut with Ninnukori. The film stars Samantha and Naga Chaitanya in the lead; this is their fourth film together, and the first one after their wedding. Pegged to be a romantic sports drama, the film revolves around a teenage boy who is an amateur cricketer. Produced by Shine Screens, the film also stars Divyansha Kaushik, who plays the teenage love interest of Chaitanya.
Majili also features Rao Ramesh, Posani Krishna Murali and Subbaraju in supporting roles. Music is composed by Gopi Sundar.

O Baby! Yentha Sakkagunnave is a comedy drama and a remake of the Korean film Miss Granny. Directed by Nandini Reddy, the film is produced by Suresh Babu under the banner Suresh Pictures. Reports indicate that Naga Shaurya has an important role in the film. The film will likely have a Tamil version as well. Miss Granny follows a 70-year-old woman who transforms into her 20-year-old self after an incident.
On the work front, Samantha will next be seen as Vembu in Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s thriller Super Deluxe, starring Vijay Sethupathi, Ramya Krishnan and Fahadh Faasil. Besides this, Samantha and Sharwanand will play the leads in the Telugu remake of ’96, last year’s smash hit directed by Prem Kumar.
