Abhishek Bachchan Resumes Shooting for Hindi remake of Parthiepan’s ‘Oththa Seruppu Size 7’ in Chennai; Says He Had a ‘Freak Accident’ On Set Last Week

Abhishek Bachchan, the actor, who was last seen in The Big Bull, has resumed shooting for the Hindi remake of the 2019 Tamil film Oththa Seruppu Size 7 in Chennai, after suffering an accident on set last week, he said late on Wednesday.

The actor fractured his right hand while on the set of the upcoming R Parthiepan directorial in Chennai, and underwent surgery in Mumbai. He was hospitalized at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital.

In an Instagram post, on Wednesday, he wrote, “Had a freak accident in Chennai on the set of my new film last Wednesday. Fractured my right hand. Needed surgery to fix it! So a quick trip back home to Mumbai. Surgery done, all patched-up and casted. And now back in Chennai to resume work. As they say… The show must go on! And as my father said…. Mard ko dard nahin hota! Ok, ok, ok it hurt a little.”

Bachchan started shooting for the Hindi remake of Oththa Seruppu Size 7 in Chennai on August 12. He will be seen playing the titular character in the remake of the 2019 Indian Tamil-language thriller film produced, written, and directed by Parthiepan, who also acted in the film as the only character seen on-screen.

Speaking to Silverscreen India, director Parthiepan said “We plan on finishing the film in one schedule itself.”

Oththa Seruppu Size 7 revolves around Masilamani, a suspect in a murder case who is taken into custody by the police for investigation. In the movie, the audience gets to hear the voices of other characters but the camera only follows Masilamani.

Amitabh Bachchan’s production house bought the rights to the film, Parthiepan told Silverscreen India.

Abhishek Bachchan will also be seen in Tushar Jalota’s directorial Dasvi alongside Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur. He has also wrapped up the shoot of Bob Biswas. The film, inspired by a character in Sujoy Ghosh’s film Kahaani, is directed by Ghosh’s daughter Diya Annapurna Ghosh. The film will also star Chitrangada Singh.
