Actor Poonam Pandey’s husband, Sam Bombay, has been arrested by the Mumbai police after the actor accused him of physically assaulting her, ANI reported. The report also states that Pandey was admitted to a hospital with injuries after lodging the complaint.
“The case has been registered against Sam Bombay under the sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC). The actress has suffered serious injuries on her head, eyes, and face,” the Mumbai police told ANI.
Bombay was previously arrested for assaulting Pandey days after their wedding last year. The couple, who were in a live-in relationship for two years, got married at their home in Bandra in September, last year. They were on their honeymoon in Goa when Pandey filed a complaint against him, alleging domestic violence.
The model had accused Bombay of threatening, molesting, and assaulting her, leading to Bombay being booked under Sections 506 (criminal intimidation), 354 (outraging modesty), 353 (causing hurt), and 353 (insult) of the IPC. The director was taken into custody and granted conditional bail the next day.
While she had initially said she would be separating from him after the incident, after his bail, she reconciled with him and had said, “which marriage does not have its ups and downs.”

After the initial assault, Pandey had spoken about her assault to Spotboye and said, “I got beaten up very badly this time, it was a half murder. I don’t know for how many days I was in the hospital. Because he is just crying in front of me and I really don’t know what to do? Every time he just beat me up and later starts crying saying sorry. This time also he did the same and promised it will not happen again and I will treat you good. But this is something he keeps doing always. Because of him, I got a brain haemorrhage.”
Further investigation in the case is underway.
