Actors Robo Shankar And Dindigul Saravanan Tour Tamil Nadu To Entertain COVID-19 Patients

In an attempt to entertain COVID19 patients who are reeling under stress and depression, actors Robo Shankar and Dindigul Saravanan have decided to tour Tamil Nadu and visit quarantine centers to entertain these patients. The duo started their tour on Tuesday by visiting the quarantine centre in Pattukottai, Thanjavur, after acquiring the necessary e-pass from the Thanjavur district collector M Govinda Rao. They have also acquired permission to travel across the state.

They have taken to stand-up comedy and mimicry to entertain patients while maintaining social distancing, wearing masks, and sanitising their hands frequently. At a time when people are refusing to meet patients, the duo has insisted on traveling to make the patients feel better in these hard times.

The actor has also spoken words of encouragement to boost the confidence of the patients. He added that the patients should be quarantined, but not separated from society altogether. “Several patients are under stress as they are left alone in the centre and aren’t allowed to even see their family members. I felt such an interaction, with a dash of jokes, would comfort them in a small way. So I sought the support of my friend Dindigul Saravanan,” said Shankar after the performance.

Shankar apparently had this plan in mind for a few days and was waiting for the green signal from the district collectors and officials to proceed further. Fortunately, the collectors wholeheartedly accepted his request and allowed him to meet and entertain the patients.

“This is one of the best programs in my career. I have planned to tour across the State and have started from Thanjavur. I am grateful to the collectors and the officials who gave me a chance to help the patients in my own way,” said Shankar in a statement.
