Remo D’Souza, the choreographer and filmmaker who suffered a heart attack on Friday, is currently stable, his wife Lizelle told a media outlet on Saturday.
D’Souza, who is 46, was admitted to the ICU ward of the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital on Friday afternoon, where he underwent angiography, reported the Indian Express. His wife, Lizelle D’Souza was present with him and said that there was a blockage in his coronary artery. On Saturday, Lizelle told the daily, “He is fine now, much better.”

According to a Quint report, CEO and Executive Director of the hospital Dr Santosh Shetty issued a statement to confirm that D’Souza was better. He said, “Remo D’Souza is being treated by a team of the doctors and is under observation. His condition is stable.”
Meanwhile, choreographers Geeta Kapur and Terence Lewis, who have been judges for the dance reality show Dance India Dance along with D’Souza, wished him a speedy recovery on social media.

D’Souza began his career as a dance choreographer in the Hindi film industry with films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Bajirao Mastani, and Kalank. After directing the 2007 Bengali feature film Lal Pahare’r Katha, he became more prominent in making films based on dance. D’Souza made his Hindi directorial debut with the 2011 Indian comedy film F.A.L.T.U. However, his best-known work is the 2013 Indian 3D dance drama film ABCD: Any Body Can Dance starring choreographer-actor turned director Prabhu Deva. He also made the film’s sequel in 2015. His last film as director is the 2020 dance-drama Street Dancer 3D, featuring Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor alongside Prabhu Deva.
He has also been a judge at dance reality shows like Dance India Dance, Dance Plus, and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
D’Souza may be discharged from the hospital on Sunday.
