The actor, who recently announced her separation from husband and actor Naga Chaitanya after four years of marriage, has been the centre of rumours since then with several speculations doing the rounds about her personal life. Samantha had filed defamation cases against channels such as Suman TV, Telugu Popular, and a few others for spreading misinformation and maligning her image.

According to the report, while Samantha’s lawyer requested the Kukatpally court to speed up proceedings in the case, the court refused to hear her case on an urgent basis and stated that the law works equally for all. The court also recommended that the actor seek an apology instead, from the YouTube channels. The court added that the case will be heard at an appropriate time.

It is to be noted that post the couple’s separation, rumours have particularly targeted Samantha, which led to her releasing a statement. While Naga Chaitanya has not spoken since his divorce announcement, Samantha, in a note shared on social media, said, “Your emotional investment into a personal crisis has overwhelmed me. Thank you all for showing deep empathy, concern and for defending me against false rumours and stories that are being spread. They say I had affairs, never wanted children, that I am an opportunist, and now that I have had abortions.”

Calling divorce an “extremely painful process,” Samantha added that the personal attack on her has been “relentless.”
