One important thing which is missed in the Tamil version is the powerful antagonist role which was played by Jaysuriya in the original, though Nikesh has given his best in Athithi his role demands powerful expressions and screen presence may be a seasoned actor would have been a better choice.
Being a thriller movie, Athithi need a special attention in editing and Praveen KL has done it in style. Cinematography by Jai suits the theme and some of the shots including the opening shot of Nikesh Ram is highly appreciable.
Overall, Athithi is a decent thriller, had the director avoided the unnecessary comedy sequences and a better cast for the antagonist role, the film would have been a better venture.
