‘Ra’ is one of its kinds. It’s a fantasy thriller, which is something new to Tamil cinema. A new attempt that turned out to be good in bits and pieces. The plot is a bit unconvincing. The logical reasoning for the course of the events and the purpose behind it is a bit unsatisfying. The first half of the film moves with plots and sub plots and more questions in the audience’s mind. The second half goes in providing the answers, which lacked the punch. It’s more about questions and answers rather than suspense and twists.
There were not many horrific scenes but lookout for the pre-interval frame, which will rock you back in your seat. Ra is a technically brilliant film, which is backed up by neat performances.
