Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been getting a lot of support from international filmmakers. Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi and French producer Ilann Girard who were present at the recently-concluded 48th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa spoke in support of Padmavati.
“My perception is that film and the cultural industry should not be taken hostage of the conflicts,” Girard told IANS, while Majidi said, “Artists face these kind of situations because of the talent and desire they have. That extends to filmmakers too. They should not stop innovation in their work because of adverse conditions.”
