A quick look at everything making news in the world of cinema today!
What’s making the news
After B S Yeddyurappa’s two-day tenure as the chief minister of Karnataka came to an end, JDS-Congress alliance staked claim to form the government with H.D. Kumaraswamy as the chief minister. He will be taking oath on May 23. The Karnataka Assembly Election saw some high drama after the results declared a hung Assembly. The BJP rushed to form the government despite the party falling short of the half-way mark. Yeddyurappa, unable to prove majority, resigned just hours before the trust vote which was pushed forward by the Supreme Court.
Here’s what Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Prakash Raj had to say about the Karnataka Assembly Election:
What happened in #Karnataka yesterday was a win for democracy. BJP asking for some more time & Governor giving 15 days time was a mockery of democracy. I would like to thank Supreme Court for its order, which upheld the democracy: Rajinikanth in Chennai. pic.twitter.com/n7TEHIsGtJ
