A quick look at everything making news in the world of cinema today!
What’s making the news
Film festivals have become the new platform to make a statement. The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) stayed in the news because of the tussle between the director of S Durga and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. After much back and forth, the film was not screened at the film festival. Meanwhile, organisations associated with the Bengali film industry stopped work between 12 noon and 12.15 pm on November 28 in West Bengal as a mark of protest and in solidarity with the team of Padmavati.
On a lighter note, this is what Kamal Haasan fans are happy about:

Mudbound could be this year’s pick.
