The first trailer of Ocean’s 8 is out and makes us wonder why the filmmakers did not think of an all-female cast before. A reboot of Ocean’s 11, the trailer shows Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett planning a new heist. Mindy Kaling is a jewelry expert, Rihanna a grungy computer expert, Helena Bonham Carter works in fashion, Sarah Paulson plays a mom who hasn’t not been able to give up her profession and Awkwafina is a hustler. The team is planning to rob Anne Hathaway, rather her $150,000,000 necklace. Going by the trailer, it could easily be the most awaited film of next year.

What’s making the news
Twinkle Khanna met Information and Broadcasting minister Smriti Irani to discuss the upcoming film Padman and the issue of sanitary pads and hygiene. Padman is the story of Arunachalam Muruganantham who invented a low-cost sanitary pad making machine. The film is directed by R Balki and stars Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte, and Sonam Kapoor.

This short film titled The Good Girl starring Plabita Borthakur of Lipstick Under My Burkha fame deals with the topic of pre-marital sex which still makes people uncomfortable in India.
