Arya, Dhanush, Aishwarya Rai and Shriya Reddy were pretty busy last week. On Tamil New Year’s Day, they had one specific task – launch something. Otherwise, it was business as usual in the film industry. Films released – OK Kanmani had perfect symmetry courtesy PC Sreeram while Ragava Lawrence chose humour over horror in his Kaanchana 2.

Cinematographer Shamdat spoke to us about the road to Uttama Villain; working with Kamal Haasan and his journey so far, while actress Nandita graced the Inspirations section.

 

Just ahead of Ok Kanmani’s release, we also took a quick look at five other films that were set in Mumbai. Women directors and their upcoming films were given pride of place in our blog while Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Broken Horses proved to be a disappointing international debut.
