Ippadai Vellum (Tamil)
Gaurav Narayanan’s Ippadai Vellum, starring Udhayanidhi Stalin and Manjima Mohan will have romance, action, comedy all rolled into one, along with a voiceover by Vijay Sethupathi. The film also stars Raadhika, Soori, and Daniel Balaji, with music by D Imman. Lyca Productions, who is also presenting Rajinikanth’s 2.0, bankrolls this action-comedy.
Nenjil Thunivirunthal (Tamil)
Known more for his rustic subjects, Suseenthiran has reportedly come up with a stylish and urbane film. Starring Sundeep Kishan in the lead, the film also stars Harish Uthaman and Mehreen Pirzada. Said to be a social drama, the film marks Suseenthiran’s 10th as a director. D Imman is the music composer while Kasi Viswanathan takes care of the editing.
Suseenthiran’s last release was Maaveeran Kittu, which was released last year.
Aramm, a political drama, has Nayanthara playing the righteous collector in this film that revolves around water crisis in a remote village. Nayanthara, as the collector, tries to fight for the people, and against a corrupt government, which incidentally, she is a part of.
The movie also stars child actors – Vignesh and Ramesh, who rose to fame with Kakka Muttai. The film’s crew includes cinematographer Om Prakash, editor Gopi Krishna, stunt choreographer Peter Hein and art director Lalgudi Ilaiyaraja. The music is composed by Ghibran.
Directed by Gopi Nainar, known for accusing AR Murugadoss of plagiarism and alleging that the story of Kaththi is copied from his script, Moothakudi.
Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana (Hindi)
Starring Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda, the film is a romantic comedy that tells the story of Sattu and Aarti. Having fallen in love soon after their arranged marriage is fixed, their story ends when the marriage does not work out. Years later, they meet but owing to unforeseen circumstances, their story may or may not have a happy ending.
The film is directed by Ratnaa Sinha and has a fun range of soundtracks composed by Anand Raj Anand, Arko, Rashid Khan, and others.
Qarib Qarib Singlle (Hindi)
Qarib Qarib Singlle‘s trailer promises a fun-filled journey with its two titular characters – Yogi and Jayashree – who are in search of romance, sex, and something adventurous from their otherwise boring lives.
In the time of online dating, 30-something Jaya craves for some action, with her friend genuinely concerned that she might become a “virgin again” since it has been a while. Jaya hunts for the perfect man and meets Yogi – master of lame jokes, whose personality is just as flamboyant as his clothes and bags.
The two unlikely persons go on a journey together, visiting the Ganga as early as 6 AM, visiting family members and enjoying the local places.
Directed by Tanuja Chandra, who last directed Hope and a Little Sugar 11 years ago, the film is bankrolled by Zee Studios and Jar Pictures, with music by Anu Malik, Rochak Kohli, and Vishal Mishra.
