Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum will be actor Atharvaa’s first release of the year. Earlier slated to release in December 2016, the film features Atharvaa as a playboy who will romance multiple women. Multiple heroines and a single hero is certainly not a new trend in Tamil cinema, with STR’s last release AAA being just that.
The film has four female leads – Pranitha Subhash, Regina Cassandra, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Aaditi Pohankar. Soori provides the comic relief.
Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum also marks the directorial debut of Odam Ilavarasun. It has been bankrolled by T Siva and has music composed by D Imman.
With Pandigai, actor Krishna is back with his second release of the year after Yakkai. The movie will be helmed by debutante director Feroz and stars Anandi as the female lead.
Director Feroz has said that the movie would be a drama centered around gangs and street fighting. “It’s about conflicts and contradictions. I have been inspired by people I have met in real life for the movie,” he said.
Fun fact – Anandhi says there is a scene in which she washes her hair with beer. She says it’s been helpful in real life too.
The film has music by RH Vikram and has been bankrolled by actress Vijayalakshmi, who recently married the director.
Thiri features Ashwin and Swathi Reddy once again in the lead cast, after Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara. The movie has been helmed by Ashok Amritharaj S and reportedly revolves around the relationship between a father and son.

Shab has music by Mithoon, a regular in Onir’s other movies. Sachin Krishn has handled the cinematography.
With its quirky trailer, and a cast of nearly 52 new faces, Himalayathile Kashmalan has caught the attention of fans and moviegoers. Directed by Abhiram Suresh Unnithan, the film has Jemin Jom Ayyaneth handling the cinematography and Aravind Chandrasekhar’s music.
