The #10yearchallenge has taken social media by storm. People are posting pictures of themselves from 2008-09, and some from the decade before that. They’re all telling us how these years have been.
From cinema, Vishnuu Vishal, Varaxmi Sarathkumar, Raashi Khanna, Shruti Haasan, Chinmayi Sripada, Harish Kalyan, Ashna Zaveri, Khushboo Sundar, Mandira Bedi, Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu, Sonam Kapoor and many other celebrities have shared their then and now photos in the last two days.
Tamil and Telugu actor Raashi Khanna’s post was unlike the others’. She shared a picture from her school days and said that as a child, she was bullied in school, and “It made me wonder how shallow some people can get.”
She said it did not affect her mentally because she knew there was a lot more than physical appearance, and she never thought she was not good enough. “And so, ten years later, here I am living my dream,” she wrote.
Vishnuu Vishal said that between 2009 and 2019, “My life evolved but deep down my emotions remain the same… thanks to my parents in shaping me up as a human.”

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar shared two pictures from 2009, and two from this year – from her TV show Unnai Arindhal and a photoshoot of her film Raja Paarvai.

Singer Chinmayi Sripada said that 10 years back, her career was slowly beginning to get better when Sahana released. “‘Varayo Varayo’ had released; people thought, oh she can sing. Blue Elephant was putting food on my plate and happily so.”
She said, “I was in the midst of hosting Super Singer and being an RJ with a morning breakfast show. Life was happy, tough, miserable, successful, desolate and good, all in one.”
Shruti Haasan shared a picture of her with bangs 10 years back.

Among the first celebrities to take up the #10yearchallenge were Reese Witherspoon, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel and others. In Bollywood, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Twinkle Khanna were the big stars who posted pictures.
Deepika shared a back-to-school picture of her carrying a lunch bag.
Sonam Kapoor posted two pictures from Delhi 6 and her upcoming Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga.
Twinkle Khanna posted an 18 years-of-marriage-with-Akshay Kumar picture – of Ranveer Singh kissing Akshay Kumar, and said, “What did your husband give you for your anniversary? Unfortunately he didn’t even give me a freshly wrapped Mr Singh just kept all the hugs for himself.”
Huma Qureshi posted a ten years later poster of Kate Winslet.
Bipasha Basu, who is working on her next film Aadat, said, “Love how life makes us all go through so many phases… even in the way we look… I have no reason to complain.”
