Solos, the upcoming English anthology series by Amazon Prime Video, was announced by the streaming service on Tuesday.
Solos will premiere later this year, according to a press release from Amazon Prime Video.
It will be helmed by directors Sam Taylor-Johnson, who will be directing two episodes, and show runner David Weil (Hunters), who will be making his directorial debut. Additional directors include Zach Braff and Tiffany Johnson.
According to the synopsis, Solos will be a seven-part anthology series that will explore the deeper meaning of human connection, as explored through the lens of the individual. Solos will tell unique character-driven stories, from different perspectives and moments in time, that illuminate that even during our most seemingly isolated moments, in the most disparate of circumstances, we are all connected through the human experience.
“I am beyond thrilled to be bringing Solos to life alongside this group of artists who I so deeply admire. I created this piece with a desire to capture stories about connection, hope and the search for that common hum of humanity that binds us all. I’m immensely grateful to Jennifer Salke and my incredible partners at Amazon for their unwavering support and collaboration on this special project,” Weil said in the statement.
Weil, who has struck an overall deal with Amazon, will serve as the executive producer along with Taylor-Johnson and Laura Lancaster while with Pixie Wespiser will be producing it.
The poster unveiled the character looks and names as well.
Hathaway was seen in Amazon Prime Video’s anthology series Modern Love that released in February 2020. In India, Amazon Prime Video released two anthology films in 2020- Putham Pudhu Kaalai in Tamil, and Unpaused in Hindi.
