A TOI report quoted Lenin Rajendran as saying, “The film is an initiative of a forum of nationally known filmmakers that we are all part of —Forum for Better Films. We have been discussing the idea for a long while and had no second thoughts when it came to the common theme of the movie — women’s issues.” Rajendran will be directing the segment, Pimbe Nadappaval, starring Parvathy.
The only woman director of the 11 is Nayana Suryan, a former assistant to Dr. Biju and Lenin Rajendran. Her segment, titled Pakshikalude Manam (The Smell of Birds), will have Shruti Menon in the lead.
The film was launched last week, by Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. It is being made under the production banner of Forum for Better films. Crossroad is expected to be released in April, 2017.
