19-Year-Old Anukreethy Vas From Tamil Nadu Crowned ‘Femina Miss India 2018’

Anukreethy Vas, a 19-year-old college student from Tamil Nadu, is the winner of the 55th edition of Femina Miss India 2018 pageant that was held in Mumbai recently. Meenakshi Chaudhary from Haryana and Shreya Rao from Andhra Pradesh were the first and second runner up respectively.

Anukreethy will now represent India at the Miss World 2018, while Meenakshi will go to Miss Grand International 2018 contest and Shreya Rao will be taking part in the Miss United Continents 2018 respectively.

Anukreethy was earlier crowned Fbb Colours Femina Miss Tamil Nadu. She beat 30 contestants to bag the top most honor in front of a panel of judges, including  Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar ,who crowned Anukeerthy.

The judges panel also had cricketers Irfan Pathan and KL Rahul and Bollywood actors like Malaika Arora, Bobby Deol and Kunal Kapoor. Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez also performed at the event.

Anukeerthy is pursuing her BA French from Loyola College in Chennai and wants to fulfill her mother’s dream of becoming a translator, though she is also interested in modeling and acting.

According to a report in Femina Beauty Pageants, “Anukeerthy grew up with the idea of “Nothing can dim the light that shines from within”. The very talented Anukreethy is a beautiful dancer and a state level athlete. She loves riding bikes as well. She loves to be in front of the camera as she aspires to become a super model in future. One of her purposes in life is to enlighten and bring young souls forward with their dreams and help them get a vision. Being a French learner, Anukreethy always desires to learn different languages from across the world to develop her intellect.”
