The Telugu theatrical rights of 2.0 has been sold a “whopping” amount. Lyca’s Raju Mahalingam took to social media to announce the news.

Directed by Shankar, the film is a sequel to the director’s 2010 film Enthiran that had Rajinikanth in dual roles – as Dr Vaseegaran and Chitt. Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played Sana, Danny Denzonpa was professor Bohra,while Santhanam, Karunas and Kalabhavan Mani had pivotal roles.
In 2.0, Rajinikanth reprises his roles while Akshay Kumar has been brought in to play the villain. Amy Jackson, Sudhanshu Pandey, Adil Hussain and Kalabhavan Shajohn also star in this movie. The film is said to have a budget of over Rs 3oo crores with music by AR Rahman.
2.0 is scheduled to release on Republic Day in 2018.
