The Telugu remake rights for Thani Oruvan have been acquired by producer DVV Danayya for reportedly Rs.5.5 crore. While Ram Charan is most likely to reprise Jayam Ravi’s role as the male lead, the director is yet to be finalised. M Raja, director of the original version and a veteran at directing remakes, may direct the film, but producer Danayya is also in talks with two other directors. According to a source, Danayya is also considering Surender Reddy and Vamsi Paidapally. The film will go on floors in November or early December. The team is also on the lookout for the remaining cast, especially a suitable artist to do justice to Aravind Swamy’s uniquely different portrayal as the antagonist. The film is being remade in five languages – Hindi (starring Salman Khan), Kannada, Telugu, Bengali, and Marathi.
