The background score is given by Bijibal and the songs are directed by M. Jayachandran and Tafiq Qureshi. Manju Warrier is collaborating with Kamal after a long gap of 20 years. They worked in E Puzhayam Kadannu back in 1996.
Veteran director Kamal raked up a controversy recently when he said that his initial choice was Vidya Balan, but changed his mind and stated that if Vidya Balan had done the movie, sexuality would have crept in.
Incidentally, his films like Perumazhakkalam, Ghadhama, Manjupole Oru Penkuttyare are famous for its depiction of strong female characters.
