Actor Kalaiyarasan, who made an impressive debut through the 2014 film Madras, is awaiting the release of his next two films Adhe Kangal and Yeidhavan, both of which are thrillers.
Adhe Kangal, directed by debutante director Rohin Venkatesan, the title of which is borrowed from a 1967 classic. Although he refused to reveal too many details about the film, Kalaiyarasan said he was elated that the teaser has created a lot of buzz. “I play a blind chef in the film, and what starts off as a love triangle between my character, his childhood friend (Janani Iyer) and a woman he loves (Sshivada Nair), quickly turns into a thriller.”
Produced by CV Kumar, Adhe Kangal has been shot in locations across Kanniyakumari and Erode. The talkie portions of the film has been completed. Ravi Varman has handled the cinematography, while Leo John Paul takes care of the editing.
Yeidhavan on the other hand, is an action thriller. “In the film, I play a guy from a middle class family. My character runs a currency counting machine business. His sister’s college admission runs into a problem, and what ensues forms the rest of the story,” Kalaiyarasan said.

Yeidhavan is directed by Sakthi Rajasekaran and produced by Sudhakaran. The film stars Satna Titus and features music composed by newcomer, Paartav Barggo.
Kalaiyarasan is also a part of China, in which he plays a shop owner at Burma Bazaar. The film, directed by debutante Harshavardhana, has Ritu Varma playing the female lead. He is also working on Kaala Koothu, opposite Dhansika. The film also has Prasanna playing the other lead. The film is based in Madurai and is about two friends with contrasting characters.
