Sudheer Babu, the Telugu actor, announced his 15th film on Twitter on Monday. The yet-to-be-titled film will be written and directed by actor and screenwriter Harsha Vardhan, who also wrote the dialogues for the Telugu film Manam.

Announcing the upcoming Telugu film, Babu wrote, “This is going to be a challenging journey for me and the team. Safe to say that, it’s something that I haven’t tried yet.”

The film will be produced by Narayan Das K Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under the banner Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP, and presented by Sonali Narang and Srishti.

The team said in a press release that the untitled film, which marks the fifth production venture of Sree Venkateswara Cinemas,  will be a “romantic family entertainer.”

Speaking to Silverscreen India, a source close to the production, on condition of anonymity, said the film will be based on a love story but set in a different genre. “The team is currently in the process of casting the female lead actor. The rest of the cast and crew will be announced in the coming weeks. Shooting will begin in the first or second week of August and will predominantly take place in Hyderabad,” added the source.

Babu, who was last seen in the 2020 action thriller V, has a slew of other projects in the pipeline, including Sridevi Soda Center, Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali, and an untitled biopic of badminton player Pullela Gopichand.

Meanwhile, Sree Venkateswara Cinemas has the Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi starrer Love Story awaiting release. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the romantic drama’s release was initially slated for April 16. However, in the wake of the second wave of Covid-19, the makers held a press meet on April 8 to announce its postponement. A new release date is yet to be announced.

Aside from this, on June 18, the production house announced its fourth project, a trilingual film in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, starring Dhanush, which will also be directed by Kammula. The trilingual project will mark the first collaboration between the actor and director. The makers recently met with Dhanush in Hyderabad and revealed that the filming will begin soon.
