Malayalam actor Dileep, who was arrested in July in connection with the abduction and assault of an actress in February, has sought bail again. The actor reportedly filed a fresh plea on Thursday stating that he isn’t involved in the abduction case.
According to a PTI News report, Dileep submitted in his petition that he is “the unfortunate victim of an orchestrated media campaign”.
“Continued detention will not serve any useful purpose for further investigation, if any, and that being so his further detention is unjust,” said the petitioner.
Despite evidences, Dileep continues to claim that he does not know Pulsar Suni — the main accused — and that there is a “large-scale conspiracy” plotted by a small but powerful section of the film industry who have been instrumental in spreading malicious stories about him for months together.
Apart from alleging innocence, Dileep is also worried about his film’s shoots and the delays it’s undergoing. His plea states that the delays are affecting the livelihood of people associated with them.

The actor’s last bail plea was rejected on July 24 as the court feared he could tamper with evidence. Dileep then moved the high court for bail after an Angamaly magisterial court refused to grant him relief and sent him to judicial custody till July 25. The HC reserved its orders on July 20.
In the remand application, police had claimed that Dileep held a grudge against the actress for letting his former wife know about his alleged affairs, and plotted a conspiracy, way back in 2013, to exact revenge.
