Actors Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh‘s untitled helmed by debutant Kaashvie Nair has resumed shoot on Monday at Film City Studios in Mumbai. The cross-border love story is being jointly bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar, and Krishan Kumar under their T-Series banner, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and Nikkhil Advani under their Emmay Entertainment banner, and by John Abraham under his JA Entertainment banner.
On Wednesday, Emmay Entertainment has announced that Aditi Rao Hydari has joined the cast as well as the sets of the film. They also revealed her character’s look in the film along with John Abraham’s, who is also essaying an important role.
A seated Aditi looks all dainty with a pink skirt and olive shawl around her head. She is leaning on a poker-faced John who is in a red kurta and cream pajama with a chequered Gol Dastaar.

John and Aditi reportedly play the grandparents of Arjun and their story is set in the time of Independence in 1947. Aditi is John’s love interest and will essay the younger version of Neena Gupta‘s character. John, on the other hand, will play a Sikh for the first time in the film.
Talking about her role, Aditi Rao Hydari said, “John and I play a couple in 1946–47 whose love story remains unfinished and unrequited till Arjun’s character feels the need to bring it to closure. Films like these are rarely made today, so I was quick to come on board.”
Producer Nikkhil Advani said, “The idea is to realise true love through the story of a woman who’s been yearning for closure for 70 years. There is a parallel between Arjun and Rakul’s characters in the present day and the forced break-up between John and Aditi’s characters in 1947 following the Partition.”
“It’s a story of love, values, bonds, and family over two different eras. John and Aditi’s is an old-school love story while Arjun and Rakul are in a modern-day relationship,” producer Bhushan Kumar said.

The team has resumed shoot on Monday for a 10-day schedule while adhering to the safety guidelines laid down by the government and taking necessary precautions. Following this, they have panned a 4-day schedule at the end of September and will wrap up the entire shoot with that.
Commenting on the same, John said, “The team has taken extreme care, following all the SOPs issued by the ministries and concerned authorities. As a producer, it’s important for me to look out for our cast and crew,” said the actor.

The untitled film is reportedly one of the first films to shoot with veteran actors like Neena Gupta and Kanwaljit Singh who have insisted to be on sets after slamming the government order which prohibited those artists above the age of 65 to shoot for films and television.
“It is a coming-of-age, cross-border love story, beautifully written by Anuja Chauhan, Amitosh Nagpal, and Kaashvie. It will be shot extensively in Punjab and Los Angeles and will feature Arjun and Rakul in never-seen-before avatars,” said Nikkhil earlier in a statement.
While the rest of the cast and crew are yet to be unveiled, Mahendra J Shetty is handling cinematography.
