Actress Sunny Leone was all set to perform in Bengaluru on New Year’s Eve, but the Bengaluru Police said that they will not be able to offer security. The police denied permission after pro-Kannada group Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Yuva Sene protested against Leone taking part in an event scheduled to take place at Manyata Tech Park in Bengaluru.
Since the police of Bangalore have publicly said that they will not be able to ensure mine & all who attend safety for my New Years event,my team & I feel, safety of the people should always come first therefore I cannot attend.God bless & I wish everyone a safe & happy New Year!

To all those who protested and to all those who supported, always remember, never allow others to speak and choose for you.Have your own voice and make your own choices. You are the youth and you are the NEW INDIA! Stand Proud and Stand together. I love you all dearly!

The organisers, Time Creations, have moved a petition to the Karnataka High Court, stating that while the police initially seemed okay about the event, their decision changed after the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Yuva Sene staged a protest with “10-15 people” at the city’s Maurya Circle on December 8. According to The Indian Express, the petition indicated that the group that staged protests in the name of protection of Indian culture was led by an anti-social element who has a record of “vandalism”.
The court is likely to take up the petition on December 21.
Meanwhile, a lot of Twitter users have expressed their displeasure over the Bengaluru Police’s inability to stick up for someone.
@SunnyLeone Proud of your stand. More power to you. Surprised that a government under the progressive #CongressPresidentRahulGandhi not able to provide security. Stay strong. The youth and the young at heart are with you. Jai Ho. ?? #SunnyLeone https://t.co/j3pxxeCQjv

To @CMofKarnataka ,
This is disappointing! How can @BlrCityPolice not be able to provide security to a performance? The city of #Bengaluru deserves better management. https://t.co/rhmR8Tv6n3— Faye DSouza (@fayedsouza) December 19, 2017
