Actor Ajith Kumar was recently appointed as the ‘Helicopter Test Pilot and UAV System Adviser’ by the Madras Institute of Technology.
The actor, who is known for his fondness for automobiles and is a professional race car driver, is now focusing on developing and launching Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Ajith will begin his new assignment by helping MIT build an advanced UAV for Medical Express-2018 UAV Challenge, a competition whose final round is scheduled to take place in Australia, in September, The Hindu reported.
According to the latest reports, team has qualified for the final fly-offs in Australian Medical express challenge competition, (Drone Olympics).

Anna University had made his appointment official in May. The actor, who is probably paid in crores, will get Rs 1,000 per visit. He has offered to donate the money for the education of MIT’s underprivileged students.
Dr K. Senthilkumar, associate professor & director-in-charge of Centre for Aerospace Research (CASR) in MIT, told The Hindu, “We have developed an innovative technology and are confident Mr Ajith’s expertise in the design of aerial vehicles will strengthen our mission.”
Ajith Kumar is currently working with director Siva on Visavasam which is in the production stages. This is their fourth collaboration after Veeram, Vedalam and Vivegam.
