Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt will be part of Baahubali director SS Rajamouli’s upcoming movie RRR. The movie, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, will release in multiple languages on July 30.
During a press meet organized by the makers in Hyderabad, it was announced that the official title of the movie is RRR. A first look poster released by the makers shows the contrasts between the heroes. Ram Charan’s face has a streak of fire and Jr NTR has a splash of water along his face.

According to a note put out by the makers, the movie is set in the 1920s and is a fictitious account of the lives of Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem. The movie will showcase their lives before they became freedom fighters.

Speculations had been rife about Alia Bhatt being part of the project. A source close to the movie had previously said, “Since her debut in Hindi cinema, Alia has been keen on starring in a Telugu film. She found the offer to be part of RRR, opposite NTR, irresistible, and so, although she has a slew of Hindi films in the pipeline, Alia has agreed to be a part of the project.”
The actress now confirmed the news on social media.

Reports of a second female lead were doing the rounds. “Search is underway for another suitable female lead. Rajamouli is keen to cast a famous actor either from Bollywood or Hollywood,” the source had said. Daisy Edgar Jones will play the role.

The film was announced last year, and shoot began on November 18. The movie is made on a rumoured budget of Rs 300 crores. It is produced by DVV Danayya. KK Senthil Kumar is the cinematographer, Sabu Cyril is the art director, and MM Keeravani is the music composer. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, who regularly collaborates with the director, is the editor for the film. The director’s father Vijayendra Rao is the screenwriter.
