Alia Bhatt is likely to be a part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming movie. According to reports, both Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone were being considered for the part.
Bhansali had collaborated with Padukone for his previous three ventures – Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani and Ram Leela. Apparently, the director wished to work with a different star for his new venture.
“Nothing is final as yet. But Bhansali is thinking of Alia seriously for his next, although Deepika is his all-time favourite. A change after working with the same Ranveer – Deepika pair in three successive films would be highly recommended,” said a source close to the director in a Bollywood Hungama report.
In September last year, reports emerged that Bhansali was going to work with Salman Khan for his new film. Titled Inshallah, the film would mark the coming together of the actor and director after 11 years. The duo had previously collaborated on Saawariya where the actor had a brief role.
In the past, they have produced hits like Khamoshi – The Musical and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
The news was confirmed by Salman Khan at a public event. “Yes, I am doing Sanjay’s film,” Khan said in a HT report. “I don’t know much about it. I have only heard a one-liner about it. But Sanjay is not answering my calls. Please ask him to speak to me,” he added.

The actor is currently shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat. A remake of the Korean film Ode To My Father, Bharat marks the third collaboration between Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Ali Abbas Zafar. Zafar directed Khan in Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. Katrina Kaif was part of the Tiger Zinda Hai and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.
The movie is scheduled to release on Eid.
