Actress Amala Paul will play the female lead in director Susi Ganesan’s Thiruttu Payale-2. The film, produced by AGS Entertainment, will go on floors on November 2. The film will also star actors Bobby Simha and Prasanna.

Susi Ganesan, whose directorial debut Five Star was released in 2005, had been missing in action ever since his last Tamil release – Kanthasami, starring Vikram – bombed at the box-office. Thiruttu Payale, released in 2006, starred Jeevan and Sonia Agarwal in the lead roles. The film was a sleeper hit. Later, Ganesan remade the film in Hindi as Shortcut Romeo with Neil Nithin Mukesh and Pooja Gupta in the lead roles.
Amala Paul is currently working in Vetrimaaran’s Dhanush-starrer Vada Chennai.
