Veteran Hindi film actor Amitabh Bachchan will be joining the cast of director Nag Ashwin’s upcoming film, starring Deepika Padukone and Prabhas in the lead.
Bankrolling the untitled film, Vyjayanthi Movies on Friday released a 27-second video to announce the news. Before featuring a montage of Bachchan’s stills, the video throws up the question, “How can we try to make a legendary film without the legend?”
Recently, Nag Ashwin had promised fans to release an update on the film before Prabhas’ birthday on October 23. Replying to a fan, he wrote: “Birthday something simple only…ee corona valla mana shoot start ke inka chaala time undi…so can’t reveal much now…but one killer update ull get before bday only..v v soon….”(Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we can’t reveal much as we are yet to begin shooting. But you will get one killer update before his birthday very soon.)
On Thursday, Vyjayanthi Movies announce on Twitter the release of the announcement. “Brace yourselves! we have a BIG announcement tomorrow at 10 AM. #Prabhas @deepikapadukone @nagashwin7 @AswiniDuttCh @SwapnaDuttCh @VyjayanthiFilms”

The film is expected to be a period film or a sci-fi on the scale of hit film Baahubali: The Beginning that Prabhas starred in. Although the film was expected to go on floors in September 2019, the announcement came only on February 26.
Prabhas is shooting for his upcoming film Radhe Shyam, directed by Radha Krishna Kumar and co-starring Pooja Hegde. He is also working on Adipurush, directed by Om Raut of Tanhaji fame. It was revealed last month that Saif Ali Khan will be portraying the antagonist in Adipurush.
Padukone will be making her Telugu debut with Nag Ashwin’s next. She will soon also be returning to Goa to rejoin the shooting for an upcoming film helmed by Shakun Batra.
