Anil Kapoor has been roped in to play a key role in an upcoming sci-fi series. The series is an adaptation of Michel Faber’s The Book Of Strange New Things, which was critically praised upon its release in 2014, with the Guardian newspaper calling it, “astonishing and deeply affecting.” The series will be directed by Kevin MacDonald.

The actor will play Vikram Danesh, the head of an alien planet called Oasis in the series. Joining him on the cast are actors Haley Joel Osmont and Richard Madden.
The story revolves around Peter Leigh, an English pastor who embarks on the journey of a lifetime into deep space that takes him light years away from his beloved wife, Bea.
