Speculations about this year’s Diwali release are abuzz with fans anticipating a box office clash between Vijay’s Thalapathy 62 and Ajith Kumar’s Viswasam. And now, the makers of Thalapathy 62 have confirmed that the film will have a Diwali this year.
While the news comes as a reason to celebrate for Vijay fans, it must be noted that Suriya’s NGK, directed by Selvaraghavan, is also slated to release on the same day, along with Viswasam.
Slated to be a political drama, Thalapathy 62 will have Vijay donning a sophisticated role, alongside Keerthy Suresh. The film also stars Radha Ravi, Pala Karuppiah, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Yogi Babu in supporting roles.
Meanwhile, director AR Murugadoss took to Twitter to confirm the trailer release of the untitled film – June 21.

Music for the film has been composed by AR Rahman, marking his first association with Murugadoss.
Similarly, as reported earlier, the makers of Ajith’s Viswasam, are also eyeing for a Diwali release. But official confirmation on this is awaited.
