Nine years after AR Rahman won a double Oscar for Slumdog Millionaire (2008), his handwritten note has been included in a first-ever printed text called the Oscars Notebook. The notebook features handwritten notes from previous winners and members of The Academy. The members were asked: ‘What do you wish someone has told you before you started working in movies?’. Rahman’s written response was: “I wish someone would have told me that all the walls a person has in the mind is only built by himself and that he/she alone has the power to break it down. The double Oscars awarded to me in 2009 was a testament I will always remember for the rest of my life.”
