Arjun Rampal To Play Blind Man in Aankhen 2; Says Not Competing With Hrithik Roshan

Arjun Rampal will essay the role of a visually-challenged man in the sequel of the 2002 hit movie, Aankhen. The 44-year-old actor has said that he is not out to compete with anyone, but his only challenge is to raise the standards. 

The actor, who was last seen in Kahaani 2, says Aankhen has a special place in his career and people still appreciate his performance in the first part.”Technically we are much improved and now we want to take the movie to another level,” he added.

Aankhen 2 is said to go on floors in the first week of April and the team is currently preparing to do stunts in the movie. The shoot will begin in South Africa. 

When asked about the cast from the first film, Rampal says only Amitabh Bachchan and himself have been retained. The makers wanted to rope in Akshay Kumar too. Rampal said, “we wanted him, but Akshay is busy with his films.”

The movie is bankrolled by Guarang Doshi and will be helmed by Anees Bazmee. The film will also star Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, and Ileana D’Cruz.
