In the #MeToo movement in India, Arjun was accused of sexual harassment by actress Sruthi Hariharan, who filed a complaint against him. She said that the actor misbehaved with her during the shoot of the bilingual film Vismaya. A case was then registered against the actor at the Cubbon Park police station. However, the actor denied the allegations and filed a Rs 5 crore defamation suit against Sruthi at the Bengaluru City civil court. The suit was filed on Arjun’s behalf by his nephew, Dhruva Sarja.

Arjun will play a pivotal character in Friendship. The film is being directed by John Paul Raj and Sham Surya and is being produced by JPR and Stalin. Friendship will be made in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and Telugu, and will release this year.
