Arvind Swamy is irked at the recent Supreme Court decision to make it mandatory for the national anthem to be played before the start of every film.
With all due respects, Why should the national anthem be played before the start of a movie? Can anyone explain …. ?

The Bogan actor said that it made sense for the anthem to be played during a big sporting event or at overseas functions where the country was being represented.
I can understand playing the anthem where the country is represented, or like a big sporting event with tens of thousands of ppl…

He also pointed out that blocking exits during the anthem might prove to be disastrous.
Exits in theatres or in any place with so many people inside should not be blocked… anthem or no anthem, hope they review this decision.

The Supreme Court’s decision has been welcomed by actors like Randeep Hooda and Taapsee Pannu, as well as director Shoojit Sircar. Few in the industry have expressed disapproval towards the move thus far.
