Actor Arvind Swami, who made a comeback with Kadal, and surprised everyone with his classic antagonist role in Thanioruvan, has now signed up for a new project with director Nirmal Kumar. This is the actor’s second movie with the director; they have already worked together on Sathuranga Vettai 2 which is awaiting release. The untitled film is being produced by Etcetera Entertainment. Shoot for the film is expected to begin on March 20.
Talking about the film, producer Mathiyalagan said, “Arvind Swami has two different looks, with one demanding the star to be quite bulky. Arvind has already started his prep, and the team is also pacing fast. The film will have its first look release early in March.”
The actor was last seen in his mentor Manirathnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, in the role of a gangster. He is currently working on Kallapart, directed by Rajapandi. Two of his films, Vanangamudi and Naragasooran, are also expected to release in 2019.
Director Nirmal Kumar showcased his talent with his 2014 debut film Salim starring Vijay Antony. Recently, he has announced his Telugu debut with the new production house Adhiroh Creative Signs based in Hyderabad. The movie starts the Telugu actor Udayshankar and actress Aishwarya Rajesh. It will be a holistic family entertainer that deals with sports.
This is Etcetera Entertainment’s 12th project. Producer Mathiyalagan is simultaneously bankrolling Nayanthara’s upcoming thriller Kolyuthirkaalam, actor Arun Vijay’s sports drama Boxer, and actress Hansika’s Maha. Earlier, the production house has released films like Semma Botha Aagathey, Appa, and Raja Manthiri.
