Cheran Not Impressed With Vishal’s Letter To CM About Waiving Farm Loans

Cheran has spoken out against TFPC president Vishal Krishna’s request to Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi Palaniswamy to waive all loans taken by farmers in the state.

Cheran took to Twitter to not-so-subtly throw shade at Vishal.

“Wolves will get worried when sheep get wet. Similarly, people who don’t know anything about agriculture will feel a lot of pity and sorrow at the state of our farmers. Instead of issuing such press releases, ask them to do some farming first,” he wrote.

Cheran has long been a vocal critic of Vishal. Following the actor’s successful campaign to get elected as TFPC President, several others apart from Cheran, including Abirami Ramanathan and Suresh Kamatchi created a rival organisation to take care of their issues.

This week, Vishal wrote to the CM urging him to completely forfeit the loans that farmers owe to banks. He said that states like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab have waived the loans of farmers, while TN continues to remain silent.

Cheran, meanwhile, has been quite outspoken about recent happenings. Last month, upon learning of Rajinikanth’s possible entry into politics, the director/actor wondered if the actor is ready to take up the travails of a politician. “The masses will definitely make you the Chief Minister. At present, the political situation is confusing. Even the people are affected by this, and they are not always honest. Politics is full of gamblers and frauds. Will such a situation be amenable to you? Do you really think you can handle it?” he was quoted as saying.
