Atharvaa Commences Shooting for his Upcoming Film with Director Sarkunam in Thanjavur

Actor Atharvaa Murali who will be next seen in the Netflix Tamil anthology Navarasa, has begun shooting for his upcoming Tamil film with director A Sarkunam in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, the makers of the film announced in a press release on Wednesday.

The film is produced by Lyca Productions with Subbu Narayanan serving as the executive producer. It has been tentatively titled Production No 22. Kannada actor Aashika Renganath, who is making her debut in the Tamil industry with this film, will be playing the female lead.

The team has planned to complete shooting in a single schedule of 50 days. The upcoming film marks the second collaboration between Atharva and the filmmaker after the 2015 romantic action-comedy drama Chandi Veeran.

Makers described the film as an “out-and-out family entertainer”. Apart from the lead actors, the film features an ensemble star cast, including actors Raj Kiran, Radhika Sarathkumar, JP, RK Suresh, Singam Puli, Ravi Khale, Sathru, Bala Saravanan, Raj Ayyappa, GM Kumar, among others.

Speaking to Silverscreen India, actor-producer RK Suresh who is playing an important role in the film and is collaborating for the first time with Atharva and Sarkunam, said, “I will be joining the shoot from 9th and I will be playing a positive role. It is a story set against a rural backdrop and it will be a big film for Sarkunam. My character will be bold and daring and at the same time, positive. This is why I accepted the role. My character is not just a supporting character but forms the crux to the story.”

According to the makers, the entire crew is following strict Covid-19 health and hygiene protocols while shooting in Thanjavur.

Lokanathan is the cinematographer and Raja Muhammad is the editor of the film. The film’s music is composed by Ghibran with lyrics by Vivega and Mani Amuthavan.
