Actor Atharvaa Murali is all set to play a cop in Darling director, Sam Anton’s film. The film, unlike Anton’s previous films, will be an action thriller.
Speaking to The New Indian Express, Anton confirmed that Atharvaa will be playing a cop for the first time. “I didn’t want to pick comedy genre again, so I thought of roping in Atharvaa. I feel he’s apt for the role. We’ve not zeroed in on the heroine as of now, but Yogi Babu is on board for the comedy track,” he said.
The film is expected to start rolling in August, with the shooting to take place in and around Chennai and Hyderabad.

The project is produced by Michael Rayappan, and bankrolled under Global Infotainment who earlier made Eeti, and Miruthan. The production house is currently bankrolling STR’s AAA.
Meanwhile, Atharvaa is hard at work on Imaikka Nodigal. He shares screentime with Nayanthara, and Anurag Kashyap in the thriller directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu. He is also working on Gemini Ganesanum Suruli Rajanum; the audio single from the movie, ‘Vennila Thangachi’, was released recently.
