Atharvaa’s Telugu Debut ‘Valmiki’ To Release On September 6

Atharvaa At The Imaikaa Nodigal Success Meet

Actor Atharvaa Murali’s first Telugu film Valmiki, a remake of Jigarthanda, will release on September 6. Directed by Harish Shankar, the film also stars Varun Tej Konidela, Mrunalini Ravi and Pooja Hegde in the lead.

Harish Shankar announced the release date on twitter recently, and also said he was proud to have Atharvaa as part of the project. The actor was last seen in the Tamil film 100, and is popular among Telugu audience because of Anjali CBI, the Telugu remake of Imaikka Nodigal.

Pooja Hegde also tweeted that she was excited to play a special character in the film.

The film tells the story of an aspiring director who is determined to make a gangster film. The original movie, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, starred Siddharth in the lead and Bobby Simha as gangster Assault Sethu. Siddharth tries to get close to him to learn about his life, but soon gets caught in a series of problems.

Atharvaa reprises Siddharth’s role in the Telugu remake and Varun Tej plays the gangster. Mrinalini Ravi, who was last seen in Super Deluxe, reportedly reprises Lakshmi Menon’s role from the original. Pooja Hegde is said to have an extended cameo in the film.

Director Harish Shankar, who last directed the Allu Arjun-starrer DJ – Duvvada Jagannadham, confirmed the Jigarthanda Telugu remake in January.
