After the release of Baahubali – The Conclusion, a video clipping of Rana Daggubati had gone viral. The video had him revealing that he was technically blind from one eye (right eye), because of an issue he had from childhood. However, turns out that things have worsened, causing major problems and the actor will now have to undergo a surgery to clear up the issue.
“Rana has been experiencing a great deal of discomfort in his eye for a while now. Along with some pain, it is also hindering him from preparing for his films, which is why the actor decided to get immediate help,” shares a source in the know.
The surgery is getting delayed further because the actor has high BP and doctors want to wait until it settles and comes down to normalcy. The actor has taken a break from work in order to facilitate the surgery and was in the US for a while now.

Confirming the same to a leading English daily, the actor’s father, producer Suresh Babu shared that he was already operated earlier at a leading multispecialty hospital (he was operated when he got a donor for the eye) in Hyderabad but that he was getting the surgery done abroad this time around. Turns out the BP issues are hereditary for the actor from his mother’s side of the family.
Rana will be seen in Madai Thiranthu aka 1945, Enai Noki Paayum Thota, Haathi Mere Saathi and Malayalam flick Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma: The King of Travancore.
